Appointment Lengths and Frequency: What to Expect

Appointment length and frequency is a very individually based decision. This decision will be made jointly by you and your therapist, and will be based on clinical need, first and foremost, but also on your scheduling needs and appointment availability. Your appointment needs can change throughout the course of therapy and will be part of the ongoing discussion between you and your clinician.

With that said, most appointments run for approximately 45 minutes. I do have some 30 minute sessions available should you want a shorter appointment length (this can happen for a variety of reasons, i.e., we can achieve what we want in that amount of time, wanting/needing a shorter check-in, busy schedules and needing to get to other activities/work, etc.).

On occasion, additional time may be needed for discussion and processing; therefore, 60 minute appointments can happen and be scheduled on an as needed basis. The decision to adjust appointment length away from the standard 45 minute session will happen on an as needed basis following your first appointment.
